BEC 2018 Fall Photo Contest

"Essence of Autumn"

Rules and Guidelines

1. Photos must be submitted between September 21, 2018 and November 28, 2018 and meet the photo criteria.
2. You must be an active BEC member or live in the same household as an active BEC member and be 15 years of age or older.
3. Photos must be uploaded through BEC website using the official contest entry form on this page (BanderaElectric.com/Fall2018). Photos that are submitted via email, Facebook, Twitter or any other social media platform will NOT be considered.
4. Photos must be taken in the BEC service territory and labeled with the location and date the photo was taken.
5. All photos must be captured digitally and submitted through the BEC website using the contest entry form found on this page (BanderaElectric.com/Fall2018).
6. Photos will be judged on creativity, authenticity, and photographic quality. Winning photos will illustrate the essence of Autumn or Fall colors.
7. Winning photos will be chosen on or around December 2, 2018 by a selected group of judges. Five (5) winning photographers will be featured in Texas Co-op Power and one of those five winners will receive a BEC gift basket which includes a Best of Typically Texas Cookbook.

Contest Timeline

The BEC Fall Photo Contest begins at 12:00:01 AM Central Standard Time (“CST”) on September 21, 2018 and ends at 11:59:59 PM CST on November 28, 2018.

Contest Entry Restrictions

Each Photo must meet the following content restrictions:

• The Photo must not contain material that violates or infringes another's rights, including but not limited to privacy, publicity or intellectual property rights, or that constitutes copyright or trademark infringement;
• The Photo must not contain brand names or trademarks;
• The Photo must not contain material that is inappropriate, indecent, obscene, hateful, tortuous, defamatory, slanderous or libelous;
• The Photo must not contain material that promotes bigotry, racism, hatred or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age;
• The Photo must not contain material that promotes bigotry, racism, hatred or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age;
• The Photo must not contain material that is unlawful, in violation of or contrary to the laws or regulations in any state where the Entry is created.
• The photo must accurately reflect the subject matter as it appeared in the viewfinder. Photos that have been digitally altered beyond standard optimization (including but not limited to removal of dust, cropping, and/or adjustments to color and contrast) will be disqualified.

 

Guidelines For All Contest Entries

By submitting a Photo as part of a Contest Entry, you warrant and represent that: (a) it is your original work and has been legally created; (b) it has not been previously published or distributed in any media; (c) it has not been entered into or won previous contests or awards; (d) it does not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, rights of privacy, publicity or other intellectual property or other legal or moral rights of any person or entity; (e) that you have obtained permission from any person whose name or likeness is used in the Contest Entry (the "Participant"). If any Participant is a minor, written permission must be granted by the Participant's parent/legal guardian. Participants, or the parent/legal guardian of Participant, must transfer all rights for usage to BEC if and as requested; (f) you own all rights to your Contest Entry, including without limitation, copyrights, and, that you have received prior written permission from the photographer if the Photo was photographed by someone other than yourself; (g) publication of the Contest Entry via various media, including Web posting, will not infringe on any third party rights; and (h) you will indemnify and hold harmless BEC and related entities or agents from any claims and damages (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from or relating to the breach or alleged breach of your representations and warranties herein, your Photo, or your conduct in creating your Photo or otherwise in connection with this Promotion. Sponsor reserves the right in their sole discretion to remove, reject or disqualify any Contest Entry or portion thereof (along with the Entrant who submitted them) at any time in the event it is determined by Sponsor or the judges that any aspect of the Contest Entry is offensive, inappropriate, not in keeping with Sponsor's image or if it is determined that the Entrant has not otherwise complied with any portion of these Official Rules. Should Sponsor void any such Contest Entry elements, Entrant is not relieved from responsibility for compliance with these Official Rules.
 

Judging and Notification

All eligible Photos will be judged by a panel of judges to be determined by BEC. The five (5) Entrants that receive the highest scores from all entries received will be named potential grand prize winners and will be featured in BEC's local pages in Texas Co-op Power.
 
SUBMITTING AN ENTRY IN THIS CONTEST CONSTITUTES ENTRANT'S IRREVOCABLE ASSIGNMENT, CONVEYANCE AND TRANSFERENCE TO SPONSOR OF ANY AND ALL RIGHT, TITLE AND INTEREST IN THE ENTRY INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ALL COPYRIGHTS.
