BEC Donations
The BEC donations and sponsorship committee meets regularly to discuss nonprofit applications and donation and sponsorship requests. All requests are considered in accordance with our donations policy which can be found with the application link below. Donations that support community projects, education, energy efficiency and health and wellness will be considered.
Organization Guidelines:
- Organizations must be a 501(c)(3) charitable organization
- Organizations and groups must provide services to residents living within BEC service areas
BEC often makes donations for the following:
- Volunteer Fire Departments and EMS, Libraries, Boys & Girls Clubs, 4-H and charities
- Community service programs and projects
- Youth programs especially those that promote wellness and combat social problems
- affecting children and youth, or that utilize mentoring and innovative educational opportunities
- Community based environmental education programs and projects, and health initiatives
- Hardship relief (food pantry, crisis centers, emergency assistance, disaster assistance, etc.)
- School programs/clubs that support students
BEC will accept sponsorship information packets, as well as monetary requests, such as booster clubs and other program opportunities, including program advertisements and spirit banners that benefit the organization’s purpose, etc. Please fill out an application and submit packets so we have an understanding of who is requesting a sponsorship. You will need to submit a new application for each donation request.
BEC generally will NOT approve donation requests for:
- Projects outside of the BEC service area
- Lobbying or political organizations
- Raffles or similar events
- Capital fund campaigns
- On-going operational expenses and salaries
- Religious projects whose sole purpose is to further the membership and influence of that religion
