The Electrical Service Standards were written with our BEC members in mind. From tree trimming, line extensions and upgrades, to safety, temporary meter construction and more, these standards will serve as a guide through your construction project.
2017 ELECTRICAL SERVICE STANDARDS
Engineering, New Installations and Service
The Texas Hill Country is seeing a strong upswing in the number of commercial and residential construction projects, and Bandera Electric is prepared to welcome our new member-owners home. No matter the size or scope of your project, BEC is here to help you manage the process from beginning to end.
From rural ranches to urban neighborhoods, lighting your home properly is a priority. BEC is here to help install, repair or replace outdoor lighting.
Clearing rights-of-way is a part of routine maintenance on the cooperative system to improve electric reliability. When you see trees growing near our lines, you can request our free tree trimming service.
Critical Care Members
BEC has developed a critical care list comprised of members who require life-sustaining equipment. Your account will be coded to make our service technicians aware of your needs. You will be notified before scheduled outages. During unexpected outages, you will receive high priority as we restore power. Please note, the critical care list does not prevent disconnection for nonpayment.
CRITICAL CARE LIST APPLICATION
While it is BEC's primary goal to provide reliable, uninterrupted service to our members, we encourage all members on the critical care list to develop an emergency plan in the case of a sustained outage. Your plan should include the use of emergency backup power like a generator.
BEC has developed community solar, a cooperative solar farm that allows members to buy into the solar energy system. BEC's community solar project is a great option for those who want to become solar power users but don't have space on their roof or property. Our 1.9 MW solar farm delivers nearly 3 million kWh to BEC members. Click to learn more about BEC Community Solar.
Bandera Electric wants to make recycling bulbs easy and convenient for our members. We offer recycling containers for CFLs and 4-foot fluorescent bulbs at all of our office locations
